TRANSECT Co-organized 2nd Workshop of New Central Asian Studies Network, CASNiG, Mar 4-5, 2021

Together with Professor Martin Welp (HNEE Chair of Socioeconomics and Communication), Michael and Henryk organised an interdisciplinary web-conference entitled ‘Beyond post-Soviet: Path dependencies and new trajectories of change in Central Asia,’ hosted by Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE) on March 4-5, 2021.

In five topical sessions, ranging from discourses and memories in agriculture to conflict and cooperation in natural resource use and new urban transformations, junior and senior colleagues from a broad range of academic institutions in Germany and beyond presented and discussed ongoing research work.

The web-conference is the second annual event of the ‘Central Asian Studies Network in Germany’ (CASNiG), founded in February 2020 at Augsburg University.
